There have been some questions on what the rules are for outdoor racing. This includes what modifications you are allowed to do to your electric or nitro truck. There will be no use of reverse gear during a race 1/18th scale offroad regulations: Chassis: Any 1/18th scale offroad truck or buggy. 4wd or 2wd. Must be specifed as a 1/18th chassis from the manufacturer. Tires: No Touring car tires. Traction compound: Traction additives are legal. Only low odour addivitives. Motor: Silver can 380 type motor only. The kit motors from the RC18 or M18T are examples. Batteries: Any battery with no more than 7.4v and a minimum of 1000mah capacity. Ni-mh, Ni-cd, Li-po, and Li-mn are all legal. 1/10th scale offroad regulations: Chassis: Any 1/10th scale offroad truck , buggy, or rally car. 2wd only. Must be specifed as a 1/10th chassis from the manufacturer. Tires: Any tire with a diameter of less than 110mm (4.33”). Trucks must use truck tires, and buggies must use buggy tires. Traction compound: Traction additives are legal. Only low odour addivitives. Motor: Brushed- ROAR legal 27 turn. Bushings, laydown brushes, 27 turn armature, and locked timing. Brushless- 13.5 turn sensored motor. Batteries: Any battery with no more than 7.4v. Ni-mh, Ni-cd, Li-po, and Li-mn are all legal. |
